Early Life:

On the 2nd of July 1964, Jose Canseco was born in Cuba’s capital city of Havana. His parents Jose Sr. and Barbara Canseco with his twin brother Ozzie had to leave Cuba because his dad lost his job at the oil and gasoline corporation where he was a Manager because Fidel Castro came to power. His part-time job as being a teacher also didn’t pay off.

In the year 1965, his family was given permission to leave Cuba and they decided to settle in the Miami area, in the United States of America. The year 1985 was the beginning of Jose Canseco’s career. He got drafted by the Oakland Athletics. His professional baseball debut was made with the Miami Marlins of the Florida State League.
