Reggie Bush was born to Denise Griffin and Reggie Bush Sr. on March 2, 1985, in Spring Valley, California. His parents got divorced and her mother later married Lamar Griffin in 1989. He has a Half-brother Javon Griffin. He attended Helix High School where he was a running back at Helix Highlanders football team.

College Career:

After a successful athletic career, while attending Helix High School, Bush gained a scholarship to the University of Southern California. Bush played for the Trojans from 2003 to 2005. While he studied at USC, he played on its football team as a running back. During his first year on the team in 2003, Bush won awards such as the ESPN Pac-10 Newcomer of the Year and was named a first-team Freshman All-American.

He set a freshman record for all-purpose yards with 1,331 and led his team in total yardage. Bush broke the NCAA freshman record for rushing yards in a game with 275 yards against rival UCLA. He was also named USC’s MVP in 2004, and during that season he helped his team win 12 straight games before losing to rival Notre Dame. After setting several school records during his junior year, Bush had an exceptional season for USC in 2005.

He won several awards that year and earned a spot in the 2005 Heisman Trophy voting as a running back after going over 100 yards rushing nine times that season including five 200-yard games. In 2005, Bush helped lead his team to a 12–1 record while winning the Pacific-10 Conference championship game against rival University of California Davis Aggies.
